Sacramento

My cousin Hilary got married in the Sacramento temple last weekend and we decided to drive up. It's always so nice to be present for a temple wedding and it was great to see family that we don't get to see all that often! My uncle and aunt (Rob & Karen) live in Kentucky, and my grandparents and parents live in Oregon and we don't visit as often as any of us would like. It was a really fun weekend and I am so glad we had the opportunity to go!

Owen loves taking pictures and walked around with his camera and took pictures of everything--until his camera died!

Aunt Kylee also came down and Owen and Emme were so happy to see her!

Grandpa Stewart with Emme. (There aren't too many pictures with Owen because he wouldn't hold still long enough to take one!)

Rob, Scott and Grandpa Cox

Great Grandpa and Owen are buddies

Great Grandma Cox and Emme.

Point Vicente

The weather was so great a couple of Saturdays ago, we took a drive up to Palos Verdes to show Owen the Point Vicente lighthouse. We stopped at 7-11 and got slurpees then walked around. We walked through the cute little museum and Owen chased some lizards that he found out in the brush. Just another beautiful SoCal day!

Owen decided that this sign did not apply him--we kept having to pull him off the rail!

A flower for me!!

The view was best sitting on daddy's shoulders--

What a fun day!!

Emme and the Bunny

I found this super cute picture of Emme and our Easter Bunny decoration; the bunny is taller than she is!!

Happy Easter!!

Owen was so excited about the Easter Bunny, he ran straight from the shower to the front room without getting dressed, which is why he is in a towel!
Owen and I dyed eggs on Sunday afternoon after church and we had so much fun! Thank you Grandma Stewart for the egg dying kit--our fingers were beautiful colors for the rest of the day...

Owen got so many eggs this year! We had a primary easter egg hunt on Saturday, a whole bunch of eggs and candy from Grandpa and Grandma Stewart, and an egg hunt at Papa Mike's and Grandma Terri's---so much fun!!
Emme sure is cute, but she is not much fun at holidays yet--next year though!

Family Photos

On Monday night, we had family photos taken. Here are the pictures of the kids in their Easter outfits--the whole family photo is really large, so I am going to have to figure out how to scan it and get it on later!

Los Angeles Kings

This is Scott's contribution to the blog---for those of you who don't know, Scott works for the LA Kings (NHL). Here is their team and staff photo for this season. Scott is in the back, center right, pink tie. Next to the guy in the red shirt. I know it is probably impossible to tell it is him, but it really is! He loves his job and has a lot fun with the people he works with.

Beach Season has Begun!

The weather is finally warm enough for everyone to start going to the beach! (I know some of you out there are laughing at me.."warm enough"- it has been in the 70's since March, but you know, those of us that live in SoCal have very thin blood!) Yeah Summer!!!!

The boys found a MILLION ladybugs on the beach. They spent almost an hour just digging through the sand to collect as many as they could!

They did eventually run in the water, chase the birds, and get
covered in sand, you just can't tell from these pictures!

I know Emme looks like she is going to cry, but really she was just trying to figure out what sunglasses are. She made the funniest faces until she got used to having them on. She loved having her feet in the sand and just sat quietly wiggling her toes while the crazy boys kept flinging sand on her as they ran past. She puts up with the boys very well!

Emme!

Emme is always such a happy baby! She laughs and smiles all the time and is just such a sweet little girl. She has the funny habit of sticking her tongue out when she smiles-it cracks us all up! Enjoy!!

The Start of Spring Break...

Owen started spring break this weekend and as you can see, he has been having a good time! He started in on Easter candy from his class---

---and we went to Michael's yesterday to buy some fun art projects to do this week while he is home. We are going to make Easter cookies to take to friends, refinish his picnic table, plant more little plants for his garden, and we found a pirate ship bird house that you get to paint yourself. Owen decided that he wanted to paint it right when we got home! Here is his finished project, he did a great job! (I only helped with 10% - I wasn't allowed to help anymore than that!) We are planning on hanging it on the back deck by his garden.

Park Day

Every Thursday is park day for the kids in our ward. It's nice for us moms (and the occasional dad) to have someone over the age of 6 to talk to and it's great for the kids to burn off some energy. We all have said what great naps they take on park days! As you can tell, it is mostly boys at park day---we usually have 11-12 boys and only 3 girls!
